It's Official!!!

I'm honestly not too sure how many people that don't follow me on Facebook read this blog. But, I'm 6 weeks (at least) overdue for a blog post, I've started a photography business, and I have some updates for everyone. So why not kill three (or more) birds with one stone?

So, first off, yes! It's true! Dash of Light Photography is off the ground and finally running. It took me over two months to decide on a name, and even as I was typing the name in to create my Facebook page I wasn't entirely sure of it. The Lord does have a way of telling you you're on the right track though, and His way of telling me that was through four notifications within 5 minutes full of people telling me how much they adored the name. Ah, yes. How worthless, unfun, lame, and just plain bland this life would be without Jesus' sense of humor. You can see my box to the right side of your screen. If you click on it, it will take you straight to my site. Hopefully a website outside of Facebook will be up and running soon, but until then, this will have to do ;)

I am also happy to report: Dan's surgery went very well. He had surgery on the 4th, so he's 9 days post-op and doing just fine. The doctor told us the damage inside was about three times worse than what we originally thought, but luckily for us, the recovery time would be about the same, and the surgery was still very successful. Yesterday at Dan's post-op appointment, we got pictures of the inside of his shoulder. In the docs words, they're 'gnarly.' The piece of cartilage that's supposed to hold his shoulder in, shockingly resembled shredded beef. The doc also said the only thing holding Dan's shoulder in these last few months were his awesome, strong, well defined shoulder muscles. *dreamy expression* .... moving on. So, onto recovery we go! 5 more weeks in the immobilizer, and about three in a sling after that, and he'll be home freeeeee!!!!

We are making a short trip next weekend to see the Boyette family in Georgia. It was rather last minute, but with Dan not working, and Taylor off school for another two weeks, there was no denying the Lord's provision for us to head straight on down there and have a good 'ol time, was there?

Welp, that's about all for now! Chinese leftovers are calling to my tummy...
